Netflix’s highly anticipated second season “Avatar: The Last Airbender” is undergoing another leadership change, marking the departure of showrunner Albert King.

King, who takes over from creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Brian Konietzko, will exit the live-action adaptation.

Co-executive producer Christine Boylan and executive producer Jabbar Raisani, both originally appointed by Kim, will take over the next season.

His main goal is to lay the groundwork for the beloved franchise in its first season as leader, sources said.

The show was in development for so long — from its initial order at Netflix in 2018 to the creator’s departure in late 2020 to the show’s eventual premiere in February 2024 — that King reportedly felt it was a good time to pursue a new career .

Ebert is close to finalizing a development deal and preparing to begin a new chapter with Disney’s 20th television station.

Meanwhile, Boylan will Avatar as one of its new showrunners.
