A case has been registered against two men in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai town for allegedly causing a loss of Rs 28.53 lakh to a businessman supplying light diesel, police said on Sunday.

According to a complaint filed by the 31-year-old businessman with police, during the shutdown of his chemical company in the Taloja region, a former employee and a supplier of the company allegedly hatched a plan to purchase light diesel without proper authorization. company.

The oil was subsequently sold, resulting in huge financial gain to the accused and a loss of Rs 28,53,076 to the victim’s business from Nashik, an official of Talohar police station said.

The businessman claimed that the alleged crimes took place between March 2022 and September 2023.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered on Saturday under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code against the company’s former employees and vendors, police said.
