The BJP’s list of fifth candidates for the Lok Sabha elections includes a number of people who have switched to the party from other organizations. Among them are industrialist Naveen Jindal and former Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA Sita Soren.

Mr. Jindal is also a member of Congress. From 2004 to 2014, he represented the Kurukshetra constituency in Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament. This time, he expressed his desire to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat” agenda.
Mr Jindal lost the Kurukshetra election in 2014. He said that in the past 10 years, the country has made progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and taken many historic steps, such as the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution.
Mr. Jindal said the dream of building a Rama temple in Ayodhya has also been realized. The BJP said Jindal’s inclusion in the party will help the government’s agenda of boosting the country’s economy and prosperity.
Sita Soren is the sister-in-law of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. She will contest from Dumka (Scheduled Tribe) constituency. She joined the BJP on March 20, citing “isolation” and “neglect” from the party since the death of her husband Durga Soren in 2009.
Sita Soren was first elected as Jama MP in 2009. Later, she became Jama’s national secretary-general. She won the Jharkhand Assembly elections in 2014 and again in 2019.
