Nation angry at Congress and punishing it for its 'sins': PM Modi

He said the country does not want the situation before 2014 to recur (document)

Jaipur:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that the country was punishing the Congress party for its “sins” and that the party that once won 400 seats could not contest 300 seats in the current Lok Sabha elections.

“Half of Rajasthan punished Congress in first phase of polls. Patriotic Rajasthan knows that Congress can never make India strong,” PM Modi said in Jallore district said at an election rally.

He said the country did not want a situation like before 2014.

“Congress hollowed out this country by spreading termites of nepotism and corruption. Today, the country is angry at Congress and punishing it for these sins.

“The Congress itself is responsible for the current situation… a party that once won 400 seats cannot fight for 300 seats alone,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi addressed a public meeting in Binmal in Jallore district and supported the BJP candidate Lubalam Chaudhry.

Rajasthan has 25 Lok Sabha seats. The first phase of voting for 12 seats has been held on April 19, while the remaining 13 seats will go to the second phase of voting on April 26.
