Investigators say they have video evidence that suggests two people may have been involved in the transportation and burial of the body of 23-year-old Kada Scott. philadelphia Prosecutors are preparing murder charges against a suspect in her disappearance.

A newly released police affidavit filed this week to support arson and conspiracy charges against King in Scott’s disappearance also includes a city detective writing that one of Scott’s co-workers saw her disturbed outside her workplace around 10 p.m. on October 4, the night she disappeared. The co-worker reportedly heard Scott say, “I can’t believe you’re calling me” before walking toward a parked SUV.
Video footage from the area where Scott’s body was found showed two people getting out of a vehicle around 11:30 pm after Scott went missing. According to the police affidavit, around 4 a.m., they are shown removing “a heavy object about the size of a human body” from the passenger side of the car and then driving it in the “general direction” of where Scott’s body was recovered from a shallow grave about two weeks later.
When police, following an anonymous tip, reconnoitered the area, which is near an abandoned school, they found a spot with freshly disturbed earth. Scott’s remains were recovered and dna Tests were conducted to confirm his identity.
After the medical examiner ruled Scott’s death a homicide, District Attorney Larry Krasner’s office announced late Wednesday that it had approved murder, robbery, burglary, abuse of a corpse, gun crime and conspiracy charges against King. King already faces arson and kidnapping charges related to Scott’s disappearance.
A phone message seeking comment was left Thursday for King’s defense attorney Shaka Johnson.
Police Text messages were also obtained between Scott and a man they believe was King a week before Scott’s disappearance, in which King identified himself as Kell. Scott disappeared around 10 a.m. She sent a message to that number saying, “Kidnap me again,” the detective wrote. “Kel” replied “You better get up too.”

He was arrested in another case earlier this year, but was released after posting $200,000 bail. In that case, King was accused of kidnapping a woman in front of her home and forcing her into a car where she was assaulted and eventually let go. Scott’s parents have described their daughter as displaying “light, kindness and a beautiful spirit.”
