indie folk band Mumford & Sons Have been announced as headliners for next summer BST Hyde Park The festival marks a significant return to form, a decade after their last performance at the central London event.
The group, best known for tracks including ‘Little Lion Man’ and ‘The Cave’, are set to grace the Great Oak Stage on 4th July.
The band expressed their deep connection to the venue, saying: “Hyde Park is woven into our story, it’s the place where so many memories are made. Coming back after a decade, with this new music, feels incredibly special. London is and always will be the band’s home. We can’t wait.”
Rock band The War on Drugs will also perform on July 4, with additional acts yet to be revealed. Other headliners confirmed for this year’s BST festival include Scottish singer lewis capaldiUS group Maroon 5, dance pop artist Pitbull, and country star Garth Brooks.
Mumford & Sons formed in London in 2007 – including singer marcus mumfordBassist Ted Dwayne, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Lovett – recently visited their album Rushmere Debuting at number one on the UK charts in April.
His upcoming album, professional boxerThe film, made in collaboration with artists like Chris Stapleton and Hozier, is scheduled to be released on February 13 next year.

Their 2025 album Rushmere earned a three-star review from Helen Brown of The Independent.
Brown writes, “Standout song ‘Truth’ is driven by a burst of blues riffs; Mumford’s raw vocals create the fire, while his bandmates lay down soothing AM-retro backing vocals like a blanket over the dusty desert ground.”
“Slower moments come with ‘Anchor’ (lamenting the singer’s ‘runaway life’) and the delicate wash of ‘Monochrome’, a beautifully finger-picked, piano-sprinkled track with a touch of the Beatles’ ‘Blackbird’. Cobb is a huge, memorabilia-collecting superfan of the Fab Four, and it appears he couldn’t wait to take a bit of that legacy from the first British band with He has worked.”
Jim King, chief executive of live music company AEG Presents, highlighted the significance of their return: “Their last Hyde Park show was a milestone for BST. Their return at this moment in their career is something we are incredibly proud of.”
Tickets for the event will go on sale on December 4 at 10am.
