MSME Development Forum Kashmir Chapter meet Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

Srinagar, July 06, KDC: MSME Development Forum (MSME-DF) Kashmir Chapter, State Convenor Dr. Under the leadership of Tousaf Ahmed, a meeting was held in Srinagar with the Union Minister, Piyush Goyal for the Central Commerce and Industries.

The delegation, in which co-convener Khair ul Nisa, Industries Head Syed Parviz Kalinder, and Representative of Handicraft chapter Sajad Shah discussed important challenges faced by industries and commerce in Jammu and Kashmir, with promoting permanent development for micro, small and medium enterprises in the region.

During the meeting, Sp Qaiser presented a comprehensive report in J&K, giving details of opportunities and obstacles faced by the industrial sector, stressing the need for target intervention to promote MSME development. Sajad Shah highlighted specific issues harassing the handicraft industry, including hurdle of supply chain, market access challenges and modern infrastructure requirement to increase the global competition of famous artisan products of Kashmir.

An important attraction of the meeting was the formal presentation of the book called Udyog established in Kashmir written by SP Qaiser to Union Minister Piyush Goyal. The book underlines the actionable strategies for industrial development in the sector, which takes advantage of the unique capacity of J&K to create a strong industrial ecosystem.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal appreciated the MSME-DF Kashmir chapter for his active efforts and assured the Central Government’s delegation to resolve the concerns raised. He emphasized the importance of lightening Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘zero defect, zero effect’ to promote high quality, durable manufacturing. The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to streamlined procedures, infrastructure improvement, and the market access to MSME in Jammu and Kashmir.
