Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon MS Dhoni took a look back at the bygone years with an interesting cameo against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2024 in Vizag on Sunday. Dhoni, batting for the first time this season, smashed an unbeaten 37 off just 16 balls at a strike rate of over 231, albeit in defeat. The former CSK skipper had Anrich Nortje’s 20 in the last game but his team fell short of DC’s total. Dhoni did not bat in the first two games of CSK but gave some joy to his fans in the third game.
Dhoni hit Mukesh Kumar for a boundary on the first ball he faced. He scored four more points in the same game to the delight of the Visakhapatnam crowd.

Talking about the match, DC defeated CSK by 20 runs to register their first win in IPL 2024 and hand the defending champions their first defeat in the ongoing tournament.
CSK chased a target of 192 but were squandered by pacers Khaleel Ahmed (2/21) and Mukesh Kumar (3/21) before ending up with Finished with a score of 171 in 6 minutes.
Ajinkya Rahane (45, 30b), Daryl Mitchell (34, 26b) and MS Dhoni (37 not out, 16b) tried their best but the DC bowlers were on the money tonight.
Earlier, captain Rishabh Pant and veteran David Warner led Delhi Capitals to 191 runs in 5 games.
Pant (51, 32 balls) and Warner (52, 35 balls) received good support from opener Prithvi Shaw (43, 27 balls).
This is Pant’s first fifty in this IPL.
Pacer Matheesha Pathirana (3/31) is CSK’s most successful bowler.
DC have missed the services of left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav due to a minor issue.
