“When you leave the game, you may not have a lot of options. We see a lot of athletes struggling after they retire because they gave everything to the game and when they leave the game, they don’t know what to do.

“In that sense, MS Dhoni understood long ago that he was passionate about cricket and it was an integral part of his life. But it can’t be everything.

“He was always doing things outside of sport. For example, his interest in bicycles. He was always working on them.
