Morena SDM Arvind Mathur suspended after complaining of misconduct with woman: MP CM

Justin, 19/09/2025

Morena (Madhya Pradesh), in a fast administrative action, September 19 (IANS), Arvind Mathur, Deputy Development of Deputy Development of Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, has been suspended after allegations of unfair behavior against a woman during a public hearing.

The complaint was formally filed by a local resident and social worker Praveen, indicating immediate investigation from the district officials.

The incident allegedly took place at the Sabalgarh SDM office earlier this week, where the woman approached Mathur with a complaint related to the financially weak section certification delay.

State Chief Minister Mohan Yadav informed about the action taken by his government and wrote on his X handle that after serious allegations against Sabalgarh (Morena) SDM Arvind Mathur – has been ordered to suspend the officer with immediate effect – related to indecent behavior towards a woman and related to unauthorized transfer of patwaris.

Additionally, the Chambal Commissioner has been directed to initiate disciplinary proceedings in this case.

The Chief Minister wrote, “There can be no compromise to maintain the dignity of public service and moral standards.”

Eyewitnesses claim that the SDM responded with enmity and used a language that was unprofessional and threatened. The situation increased when Mathur allegedly commented, who violated the dignity of the complainant, causing public outrage and calling for disciplinary action.

Praveen, who filed a complaint with the woman and later, said, “Such behavior with a public servant is unacceptable. We hope that our

The complaint was presented at the office of the Morena Collector, supported by video footage walking on social media, which captured parts of the change.

The footage, which shows Mathur, showing widespread condemnation from civil society groups and political leaders, raising his voice and indulging aggressively.

Former Union Minister Arun Yadav also weighed, strict action and called the incident “a blot on democratic process”.

After preliminary investigation and increasing public pressure, the General Administration Department (GAD) issued an order, in which SDM Mathur was suspended.

A senior district administration official confirmed, “suspension is a procedural step to ensure a fair investigation. We are committed to maintaining transparency and accountability.”

This is not the first time Mathur has faced criticism for his conduct. Previous complaints were revealed about their abrasive handling of public grievances, although no formal action was taken so far.

The woman involved in the incident has received support from local advocacy groups, seeking institutional reforms to prevent such misconduct at future hearing.

Meanwhile, Praveen vowed to continue his campaign for administrative accountability, “This is just the beginning. We will not stop until justice is given.”

In addition, in a clear violation of the administrative protocol, SDM Mathur, allegedly transferred several patwaris, despite the clear instructions of the District Collector, which prohibits such tasks.

The unauthorized transfer has raised serious concerns about procedural integrity and misuse of the authority within the Sabalgarh subdivision.

Sources in the district administration confirmed that Mathur sidelined the standard approval channels, by reducing the instructions of the Collector and disrupting regular land revenue operations.
