Microsoft launches Pix2Gif, an AI-powered image to GIF converter; check how it works

By | Published | No Comments

Microsoft has been upping its game with artificial intelligence capabilities in Copilot and other Windows apps. Now, its research arm has announced the launch of an artificial intelligence model called Pix2Gif, which can convert static images into GIFs. It utilizes image transformation methods to bring motion to images. So now you can convert any image into a fun and creative GIF in seconds. The researchers also say they have integrated text descriptions that can add cues to images.

What is Pix2Gif

Pix2Gif is a motion-guided diffusion model that converts images into GIFs. The tool not only gets information from images, but also brings movement with the help of text cues and amplitude of motion.Microsoft Blog postal Emphasizing that before training the artificial intelligence model, “We carefully organize the data by extracting coherent image frames from the TGIF video subtitle dataset, which provides rich information about the temporal changes of objects. After pre-training, we Our model is applied to multiple video datasets.”

How to use Pix2Gif

It’s not that Pix2Gif is currently a research project and isn’t yet available for public use. However, Tom Guide report The Pix2Gif tool can be accessed for experimentation by downloading the tool locally. You then simply upload a static image to the tool along with the text prompt for the animation you want. The tool will then take a few seconds to generate a 2-second video or GIF based on image processing and the given description. Pix2Gif is still in testing and experimentation before the tool is made available to the public. However, this tool can provide multiple benefits when it comes to GIF and image editing.

Microsoft also said that Pix2Gif was trained with the help of 100,000 animated gifs with titles as text prompts. However, there is a lot of excitement about leveraging artificial intelligence video generation tools such as OpenAI’s Sora, which will launch later this year.
