The Bahujan Samaj Party on Monday named Punjab AAP MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy’s father as its candidate from the Ferozepur Lok Sabha seat.

Jalalabad MLA’s father Surinder Kamboj joined the Mayawati-led party on Saturday. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas severed ties with the Shiromani Akali Dal in February and announced it would go it alone in the parliamentary elections.

Randhir Singh Beniwal, BSP in-charge of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, announced the dispatch of Kamboj from Ferozepur.

Randhir Beniwal said the party will soon nominate candidates for the remaining seats in Punjab. The CPP had earlier announced its candidate for the Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha seat.

Polling for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will be held on June 1.

SAD and BSP had jointly contested the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections.
