Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav has set the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on fire with his stunning bowling. His delivery speed of over 150 kmph has led to some brilliant wins for Lucknow in the ongoing T20 league. But what’s the secret behind the pacers’ rapid pace? When his mother Mamta Yadav was asked about the young speedster’s eating habits, she revealed that her son had turned vegetarian over the past few years. But earlier, he used to eat non-veg food.

“Mayank has just switched to a vegetarian diet. He was eating vegetarian food before and he has been eating vegetarian food for the last two years. Whatever he asks us to do, we make it for him as per his diet chart. “He won’t eat anything special, dal , roti, rice, milk, vegetables, etc.,” revealed Mayank’s mother Mamta in a chat with Aaj Tak.

While Mayank’s mother is not entirely sure why the cricketer ditched non-veg food, she revealed that she knows there are two reasons. The first reason was his faith in Lord Krishna and the second reason was that he felt that non-vegetarian food was no longer suitable for his body.

“He said that non-veg dishes were not suitable for his body. He told us two reasons. The first was that he started believing in Lord Krishna and that could be one of the reasons too. We did not force him to reveal “why he quit non-veg food. He said whatever I do will be good for his game and good for his body,” revealed Mayank’s mother.

During the chat, Mamta also revealed that she hopes to see her son don the India jersey and make his international debut soon.

Seeing Mayank’s performance in the early stages of the IPL, many former cricketers have asked him to be included in the Indian team quickly. Some are even backing him to represent India in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will begin in June.
