Maya Rudolph Makes Dramatic Sketch Before SNL Hosting: ‘Never Quit’

Maya Rudolph, Saturday night Live The alum reflected on his nostalgic attachment to the hallowed halls of Studio 8H.

The comedian is set to make his comeback as host on the comedy sketch show on May 11. Current cast members Andrew Dismukes and Chloë Trost found the 51-year-old actress at her humblest self in a promo video.

As the two hosts walked down the aisle, they were stopped by mysterious laughter and flashing lights.

“Wait, did you hear that?” Dismukes asked, to which Trost replied, “Yeah, I never noticed that door before.”

Curious, Dismukes opened the door and found Rudolph, completely bewildered, dressed in colonial attire and holding a bowl of porridge.

“Maya is that you?” Dismukes asked disorganizedly.

“Oh, hello,” the loot Star replied, adjusting her hair. “I wasn’t expecting visitors.”

Trost was surprised when asked how long she had been living in the closet, Rudolph replied that she never left the closet after being let out. snl in 2007.

“I’ve been here since 2007. I never left. Why would I leave? I have everything I need here. My books, my oatmeal. And my dear friend Kenny,” she said, pointing to the mop with googly eyes. Hui said. Straight.

Then she dramatically picks up a book and coughs up the dust of 17 years of living in a closet.

After learning that she would be hosting this week’s event, the actress asked the duo to take a few minutes to “freshen up”. Shortly thereafter, Rudolph appeared calm and composed, and began looking for her dress for the evening.

“see you Saturday!” She told both of them as they stepped back from her unexpected appearance.

For those who don’t know, Rudolph created his Saturday night Live Debuted in 2001 and left the show in 2007.
