Director Manikandan was robbed a few days ago. The theft took place at his Usilampatti residence in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. However, things took an interesting turn as the thieves returned his National Award with an apology letter. The note has now gone viral.

When Manikandan lived with his family in Chennai, his pet dog lived at his Uthirampati residence and two of the director’s friends often visited the house to feed it. When they visited the house recently, they discovered that the door had been tampered with. They also reportedly noticed several valuable items missing from the house.

According to reports, a case has been registered with Usilampatti police. A friend of the director pointed out that Rs. 100,000 in cash, 15 pounds of gold jewelry and other items were missing from the official residence.

However, when police investigated the premises, they found a plastic bag containing Manikandan’s National Award medal and letter of apology hanging on the wall of the compound. “Sir, please forgive us, we are repaying you for all your hard work,” the note read.

Photos of the medal with the note went viral online. Meanwhile, cash and gold jewelery are yet to be recovered.
