Jaipur:
A man allegedly killed his 60-year-old father and buried the body at his home in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district, police said on Saturday.
Accused Chunni Lal had a heated argument with his father, Rajeng Baranda, during which he hit his father on the head with a sharp weapon on Wednesday.
Police said Mr Balanda died on the spot and Chunilal buried the body in the yard of his home.
The victim had four sons: Prakash, Dinesh, Pappu and Chunni Lal. Police said Prakash lived with his mother in Ahmedabad, other siblings lived in Barwala village of Dungarpur, and Balanda and Chunni Lal lived in another house. .
Dinesh and Pappu called Prakash and told him that they had not seen their father for the past two days. Prakash and his mother came to the village and confronted Chunni Lal.
Chunni Lal initially lied about his absence but confessed to killing him on Friday, after which his family reported the crime to police, police said.
They said the body was exhumed from the yard and placed in the morgue of the district hospital.
A case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and Chunni Lal has been arrested, they added.
