Upset over the cancellation of his marriage, a man allegedly shot dead the mother and brother of the woman he was going to marry, police said on Saturday. The incident took place on Friday night in Izzatnagar police station area. He said that the police is searching for the accused Sanjeev Kumar, resident of Asihabad, Izzatnagar.
Kumar shot dead Meena (55) and her son Netrapal (21) on Nainital Highway, 500 meters away from Ahladpur police post. The bodies were found on the roadside. Superintendent of Police (city) Rahul Bhati said Kumar’s marriage was fixed with Meena’s daughter but it was later cancelled. He said that after receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
A complaint was filed against Kumar based on the complaint of Meena’s husband Bhup Ram.
SP said that efforts are being made to arrest him. In his complaint, Ram said that he had fixed his daughter’s marriage with Kumar but canceled it after getting information about his misbehavior. The complainant alleged that enraged by this, Kumar shot Meena and Netrapal.
