A man has been charged with murder after a mother was stabbed in the neck while pushing her baby.
Habibur Masum, from Burley, Lancashire, was charged with murdering 27-year-old Kulsuma Akter and was eventually arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a four-day manhunt.
Masum, 25, was also charged with possession of a bladed article and will appear at Bradford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Akter, a 27-year-old man from Oldham, died after being stabbed at the junction of Westgate and Druton Road, Bradford, at 3.21pm on Saturday, April 6.
Kusuma was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries. Her child was not injured in the incident.
Four other men in their 20s were also arrested on suspicion of assisting a crime and drug offences, police said.
Another 23-year-old man arrested on Monday on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail, authorities added.
West Yorkshire Police has also made a report to the Independent Office for Police Conduct because officers from the office had contact with Ms Ackert before her death.
A 23-year-old man was arrested in Cheshire on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in police custody.
