Love triangle, intimate photos lead to murder of Pune businessman at luxury Guwahati hotel

Police have arrested a Kolkata couple for killing a Pune businessman at a luxury hotel in Guwahati for possessing intimate photos.

The incident came to light after 42-year-old Pune businessman Sandip Kambli was found dead at a luxury hotel in Guwahati.

Police investigation revealed that Kambli had an altercation with 25-year-old Anjali Shaw and her boyfriend Rakesh Shaw, who were working at a restaurant at the Kolkata airport, at the Radisson Hotel in Guwahati on Monday afternoon.

Police said the altercation was the result of a complicated relationship. Kambli develops a relationship with Anjali and forces her to marry him. Kambli is also said to be in possession of intimate photos of Anjali.

Anjali already has a boyfriend (Rakesh Shaw), to whom she confides in Kambli’s advances and the existence of intimate photos taken by Kambli . Concerned about the potential repercussions of the photos, the couple hatched a plan to confront Kambli and retrieve the photos.

Kambli and Anjali agreed to meet at the Kolkata airport, but Kambli took Anjali to Guwahati where he booked a room at the Radisson Blu hotel for the two. Meanwhile, Rakesh had booked a separate room in the same hotel.

After Rakesh reached the hotel room, a fight broke out between the three which led to a physical altercation, leaving Kambri unconscious and injured. Anjali and Rakesh fled the scene, leaving behind Kambri’s belongings.

After being informed by staff about the body of a Pune man in the hotel room, police rushed to the spot and reviewed CCTV footage, guest list and airport passenger list. The incident ended when police found and arrested Shaw and Anjali, who were on their way to Kolkata near Azara.
