Trivandrum:

A case has been registered against a man for using a microphone to insult Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in front of the state secretariat in the administrative capital, police said on Saturday.

Accused Sreejith has been protesting in front of the secretariat for years demanding a CBI probe into the death of his brother, who was allegedly killed during custodial interrogation by the state police.

A police officer said a case has been registered under IPC 294 b (singing, reciting or uttering any obscene song, ballad or word in or near any public place).

Srijith’s microphone was also confiscated by the police, the officer said, adding that further proceedings would be decided soon.
