New Delhi:
A 55-year-old man and his son were allegedly stabbed to death by five residents living near south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area over a personal enmity, police said on Monday.
The incident took place in a narrow lane in Chiragadilli on Sunday night.
Police identified the victims as Jai Bhagwan and his 22-year-old son Saurabh.
A purported video clip of the incident has emerged on social media, in which the victim can be seen being attacked with a knife.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Ankit Chauhan said Bhagwan was facing multiple criminal cases, including a murder case registered in Malviya Nagar area.
The DCP said Bhagwan and his son will run cable TV business in the area.
The four accused have been arrested and are being interrogated to ascertain the exact reason behind the killing, police said.
The two victims got into an argument with neighbors at a birthday party a month ago. Another police officer said both families were reassured by locals during that time.
“On Sunday, an argument escalated and two people were attacked with knives and machetes,” the officer said. Police said the incident occurred in full public view.
