Patna, Oct 24 (IANS) RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday kicked off the campaign trail, a day after securing the support of all grand alliance partners for his chief ministerial candidature, and vowed to make Bihar the number one state in the country.
Speaking to media persons before leaving for Patna for his campaign, the RJD leader declared, “Tejashwi does not make broken and false promises. I am firm on my words. Making Bihar number one is our goal.”
Trying to arouse public sentiment and attract maximum people’s attention, he promised to make the entire 14 crore population the Chief Minister of Bihar, which he hinted would mean “worry-free”.
He further said that if the Grand Alliance comes to power, it will focus on education, health and increasing the income of the people. He vowed to fulfill all the promises made to the voters of Bihar.
“We have also announced a scheme for Jeevika Didi. We will fulfill each of these promises,” he said. He reiterated that his government will not go back on any promise and will provide a government job to every member of the family, as promised earlier.
He said, “Our priorities are education, health, justice and employment and this will lay the foundation of development and good governance in Bihar.”
Earlier in the day, before embarking on the election campaign, Tejashwi also shared a picture with VIP chief Mukesh Sahni, both sitting in a helicopter, gearing up for the high-voltage campaign for the two-phase elections.
“Stepping towards the destination with enthusiasm, enthusiasm, hope and faith!” Tejashwi wrote while sharing the picture.
Now all the parties have started campaigning for Bihar Assembly elections.
On Thursday, after weeks of intense infighting and uncertainty, the Grand Alliance in Bihar finally declared RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial face for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Tejashwi Yadav’s name was announced as the chief ministerial face during the joint press conference of the alliance at Hotel Maurya in Patna.
This announcement was made by former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in the presence of leaders of the constituent parties of the alliance. He also announced the name of Mukesh Sahni as the face for the post of Deputy Chief Minister. The decision came after a prolonged dispute between the constituent parties – especially RJD and Congress – over the seat sharing arrangement and CM face.
