'London plan failed': Jailed Imran Khan claims victory amid delayed poll results

Jailed Imran Khan delivers AI-powered ‘victory speech’ amid delayed poll results.

Islamabad:

Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan delivered a “victory speech” using an artificial intelligence voice on Saturday, calling out Pakistani Muslims as the Election Commission of Pakistan faced criticism for delaying the declaration of general election results. PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s “London Plan” failed due to massive voter turnout on polling day.

“My dear compatriots. By voting on such a massive scale and exercising your democratic right to vote, you have laid the foundation for restoring the freedom to exercise your civil rights. I congratulate you for helping us win the election magnificently. I have so much for you. People came to vote with confidence. You betrayed my trust and the massive turnout on election day surprised many. “London Plan” because of your active participation in democracy. Nawaz Sharif is a leader with low IQ , delivered a victory speech despite his party being 30 seats behind,” the former prime minister and PTI founder said in an AI-voiced audio clip on social media platform X.

Elaborating further on his party’s allegations of fraud and electoral malpractice, Imran said: “No Pakistani will accept this (electoral fraud), which has also been widely reported in the international media. According to 45 table data, We are on track to win over 170 National Assembly seats. Fellow citizens, you have set a date for the restoration of democracy in Pakistan. We will win the 2024 elections with a two-thirds majority. Everyone has seen the power of your votes. Now show your ability to preserve and protect it.”

Meanwhile, Dawn News quoted sources as saying that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zair Dari, co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting in Lahore.

The meeting came shortly after Nawaz declared victory in a general election held the day before and invited his allies to form a coalition government.

Both PPP and PML-N are part of the PDM government, which succeeded PTI after Imran Khan was ousted from the Prime Minister’s Office in 2022.

Meanwhile, independent candidates, mainly backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), are leading with 82 seats, according to unofficial provisional results reported by Dawn News in 212 of the 266 seats.

On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), which emerged as the largest party, trailed with 64 seats, followed by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) with 40 seats.
