chelsea striker Liam Delap His team had to leave the field injured during the first half. Premier League match against bournemouth After the possibility of shoulder dislocation.
The incident occurred around half an hour into Chelsea’s 3pm match against Cherries, when Delap had a scuffle with Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi before landing awkwardly on the Argentine striker.
Delap required immediate attention from the club’s medical staff and appeared to be in considerable pain, after which he was replaced by fellow striker Marc Guieu.
While the injury will need to be assessed before a formal conclusion can be reached, Delap’s shoulder was in a sling when he landed and he went straight down the tunnel at the Vitality Stadium. The score was 0–0 at half-time, with both sides creating chances and one of the hosts’ goals being ruled out for offside.
Delap returned to the Chelsea team at the end of October after spending two months on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury, and has not managed to settle at Stamford Bridge since transferring from Ipswich in the summer.
It is not known at this time how long he will be sidelined due to this latest issue, although most players return to action after about six weeks if they suffer a dislocated shoulder.
Such a lay-off window would be a crushing blow to a Chelsea team that has already struggled with injuries so far this season, and the Blues need the return of players ahead of a busy winter schedule that will see them face Newcastle, Aston Villa and Manchester City between now and January 4.
While the Blues are currently without Moises Caicedo due to his red card against Arsenal, the Ecuadorian will be back for the match against Everton next weekend, although Romeo Lavia and Dario Assugo will be out until the New Year and key defender Levi Colville will miss the entire season due to an ALC injury.
