Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha became the first chairman of the Shrine Board to reach the holy cave via Baltal Track in recent times.
The Lieutenant Governor inspected the maintenance, upgradation and widening of the Yatra Track Enforte and evaluated the measures taken by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and Border Road Organization (BRO) to ensure the safe and hassle -free pilgrimage of the devotees. He appreciated the unprecedented works done by Bro and SASB.
Lieutenant Governor said that after the end of the journey in 2024, special focus has been on developing safe travel tracks on both routes.
The Lieutenant Governor further said, “The alternative route from Chandanwari to Pistop will be provided with safety hand railings and surfacing, which is for better management of traveling along the moon axis and working in a better way to work better.”
In weak parts, security hand railings have been developed on the Pahalgam route.
Unstable structures with both routes are addressed with the installation of gabian/ breast walls, ILC fences and wire nets, which have to overcome the danger ranging from shooting stones at Railpathry-Bariyarg, Kaliitya-Bari, claw-pangtari-pangtari-panjtari-pantari-pantri-covered cave, pisutap-zozable stretch.
In addition, granular sub -base material applied to all slippery stretch with both routes.
The ILCB tiles are placed on the slippery stretch of both the routes i.e. Domel-Railpathry-Breasty Stretch on Baltal Route and Chandanwari-Pisutt-Zozibal- Mg Top Stretch On Pahalgam route.
