Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the opening ceremony of Khelo India Water Sports Festival at Dal Lake on Thursday.
800 athletes of 28 states/UTS are participating in this mega National Sports event which will project J&K UT as the country’s water sports capital.
Addressing the gathering, LG Manoj Sinha said, “The host of the national level sports program with participants from across the country sends a strong message of peace, general situation and progress to Jammu and Kashmir. While winter sports attract visitors during the snow season, water sports will promote summer tourism, which will benefit the local economy.
