Less new measles cases in Ontario, Public Health Data Show

A public health Ontario report released today suggested a constant downward trend in new measles cases.

The health agency is reporting 12 new cases in the province, last week below 33 new cases and before 96.

Two more people were infected with highly infectious disease in a northern region, including the Sault Ste. Mary and the surrounding areas.

The region had been showing the biggest growth in cases for a few weeks.

Four more people were infected in South -Western Ontario – the region that was the most difficult for months.

Ontario has a total of 2,223 measles cases as the outbreak to travel in New Breanswick began in the last October.

Alberta has the second largest number of measles infections in the country, which has been reported on Wednesday 1,169, including 64 new cases in the previous week.
