Downing Street says that the government is not looking towards leaving ECHR

“It will determine new reforms so that it is Parliament instead of ad hoc court decisions that determine who can live in this country.”
Article eight of the agreement, right to family life, have been used during court cases to justify the remaining illegal migrants in the UK.
The spokesperson said that the government said “will further the new law to tighten the application of eight”, saying: “The government is clear that the UK will remain a member of the ECHR and closure from the international platform will make it difficult, it will not be easy to return people, and you will not attack international agreements by tearing international agreements.”
Asked if the ministers were considering the suspended elements of the treaty because it applies to the UK law, the spokesperson replied: “This is not what we are seeing. We are seeing, because the Home Secretary will repeat this afternoon, which we are taking to tighten the application of the article eight, bring the new law forward.”

PM repeats commitment to ECHR as the pressure increases considerably in the conference

It comes after several high profile data, including former Labor Home Secretary Lord Blanket, called the government to reconsider its relations with ECHR.
“As we said last week, it is one of the first governments that have actually set a plan to take action on ECHR, plans that will determine the Home Secretary Article 8 to tighten the application”.
The government had said earlier this year that it would try to reduce the number of people claiming “extraordinary circumstances” over the right to family life, so that private and family life to stay in the UK under Article 8 of ECHR would have the right to private and family life.
The spokesperson said, “We will carry forward the new law to tighten the application of Article 8, but the government has clarified that Britain will remain a member of the ECHR”, the spokesperson said. “It will not be easy to deport people by tearing international agreements.”
