Kurt Cobain’s daughter Frances writes heartfelt message on 30th anniversary of his death

Kurt Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean Cobain writes a long, heartfelt note to honor her late father on the 30th anniversary of his death ‘s father.

Frances wrote a note on Instagram alongside a carousel post of throwback photos of Kurt and some of the Nirvana frontmen holding her as children.

“Thirty years ago, my father’s life ended,” Francis wrote of the rocker, who was 27 in 1994. “The second and third pictures are from the last time we were together when he was alive.”

She went on to detail how her grandmother Wendy “often pressed my hand to her cheek and said with a quiet sadness, ‘You have his hand,’” adding that she hoped Kuhl Te’s mother now “holds his hand wherever he is.”

In a poignant reflection, Frances said her “thoughts about loss are in a constant state of flux.” She explained that after grieving “almost as long as I was conscious,” she realized death had a purpose, like “pain and joy, yin and yang.”

“It turns out that nothing stirs the consciousness of love more than knowing that it will all end,” Francis wrote.

The model, who married Tony Hawk’s son Riley in October 2023, hopes she “gets to know my dad” in many of the little details.

She went on to describe a letter Kurt wrote to her before she was born. “The last line of it reads, ‘Wherever you go, wherever I go, I will always be with you.’ He kept that promise because he was there in so many ways,” she continued.
