Rajasthan Royals consolidated their spot at the top of the IPL 2024 table with a thrilling win over Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday. Jos Buttler played a brilliant strike off the last ball of the match to steer his team to victory, while Sunil Narine’s maiden T20 century was in vain . With this win, RR has 12 points from 7 games and is the favorite to secure a spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs. On the other hand, KKR are second with 8 points but they still have the best NRR (Net Run Rate) in the competition. Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad are ranked third and fourth with 8 points respectively. Royal Challengers Bangalore are at the bottom of the table.
Royal Challengers Bangalore star batsman Virat Kohli continues to top the list for the Orange Caps, followed by Riyan Parag of Rajasthan Royals. KKR all-rounder Sunil Narine finished third with a stellar performance, while Sanju Samson and Rajasthan Royals finished fourth and fourth respectively five.
Coming to the Purple Caps, Yuzvendra Chahal leads the way, with Jasprit Bumrah, Mustafizur Ra hman), Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins and Punjab Kings pacer Kagiso Rabada followed.
Rajasthan Royals completed the biggest run chase of the Indian Premier League, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by two wickets.
KKR, who were asked to bat first, relied on Sunil Narine’s 56-ball 109 to post figures of 223/6 in the allotted 20 overs.
In response, RR were in all sorts of trouble but Jos Buttler blasted an unbeaten 60-ball 107 and the visitors completed the chase with the last ball of the match.
Narine blasted a 49-ball 100 to lead KKR’s charge in the table-top match at Eden Gardens after his team was asked to bat first at the new stadium.
It was a one-man show for KKR, with Narine (109 off 56) batting till the 18th over, first with Angkrish Raghuvanshi (30) for 85 and then with Andre Russell Russell (13) scored 51 points together.
However, Buttler had other ideas while working for RR in extremely difficult circumstances.
