The Indian Premier League (IPL) unearthed another gem in the 2024 season in Angkrish Raghuvanshi as Kolkata Knight Riders beat Delhi Capitals by 106 runs on Wednesday. The 18-year-old batsman scored 54 runs off 27 balls at a strike rate of 200. He hit 5 fours and 3 sixes. While Raghuvanshi’s innings was filled with boundaries, his chat with commentator Harsha Bhogle during the break in the innings also entertained the fans.

With an innocent smile on his face, Raghuvanshi started speaking by expressing his excitement about talking to Harsha, who responded by saying that he was excited to see the young KKR star batsman.

“I just want to watch the ball and react. I’ve been with the Nets for the past few weeks and it’s been a lot of fun just watching Sunil play. After watching the SRH game, nothing is a winning score, we have to bowl well. Bowling and Force them to make mistakes,” Raghuvansh said after the game. The KKR management also sent Raghuvansh to address the media at the post-match press conference. There, he said the match against Delhi Capitals was “fun”.

He added that the Kolkata-based team picked up two points against Delhi Capitals and that’s all that matters.

“It’s been fun. The batting has been really good… going into the tournament with a fifty is great. But more importantly, three wins from three games. The team is thinking about the next game. It’s not Personal stuff, just “How can we win games for the team. We got two points and that’s the most important thing. ” Raghuvansh said at the post-match press conference.

To sum up the match, KKR’s target of 273 runs was too much for DC and they succumbed to the pressure and ended up losing by 106 runs.

The pace duo of Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora took two wickets each to reduce DC to 33/4 in the powerplay.

These early hits undermine DC’s approach to chasing huge totals, with each delivery becoming more challenging.
