King Charles sends ‘clear’ message to Prince William with Easter speech

King Charles sends ‘clear’ message to Prince William in latest speech

King Charles made a “clear statement” in a pre-recorded address to the nation at this year’s Maundy Day service.

The 75-year-old monarch will speak ahead of Sunday’s Easter service at George’s Chapel later this week.

The audio message was accompanied by a new photo of the king and was posted on the royal family’s official social media accounts.

The king will also attend Easter services with Queen Camilla, but there are special standard operating procedures to accommodate his health condition.

Towards daily beastA source revealed: “Charles has made it clear that he remains in charge by recording a message for Maundy Day and making an appearance on Easter Sunday.

“He is very aware that he is still active behind the scenes. As usual, there is a lot of energy in his office,” they explained.

It comes after royal expert Clive Owen suggested the king give up the throne to Prince William “when he is 80” following his current battle with cancer.

The Last Queen author added: “Camilla could then retire to Balmoral and leave the show to William and Kate. I suspect that’s what will happen.”
