King Charles and Kate Middleton are “looking forward” to spending time with each other on their upcoming trip.

For those unfamiliar, members of the royal family gather at Balmoral Castle to escape the summer between late July and October.

“They are just talking about going to Balmoral for the summer together and are looking forward to it. Kate may spend some time with Charles before the rest of the family arrives,” the insider told the outlet.

“She would bring the children, but not the extended family,” they explained. “They have never been closer.”

The source added: “Going through this cancer journey together has brought them together in an unexpected way, but one they are both extremely grateful for.”

In February, Buckingham Palace revealed King Charles had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, just days after he underwent corrective treatment for an enlarged prostate.

More than a month later, Kate also revealed her diagnosis of cancer, which was discovered during a post-operative checkup following abdominal surgery in January.
