Karnataka man hangs himself after being unable to cope with wife’s obsession with Instagram

A man hanged himself to death in Karnataka’s Hanuru district on Thursday, allegedly irritated by his wife’s obsession with making Instagram videos.

Kumar, 34, who works as a laborer, dislikes the fact that his wife is often addicted to social media platforms, making and uploading videos on them.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased objected to his wife’s obsession, but she ignored it and continued with it, police said. A senior police officer said this often led to quarrels between the couple and when things reached a breaking point, Kumar committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.

The body was sent for autopsy and no suicide note was found at the scene, police added.
