President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday greeted himself on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Day and recalled Jawans sacrifices, who fought with courage and valor in the Kargil war.

This day symbolizes our exceptional valor, courage and stable determination of our Javans. Their dedication and supreme sacrifice to the nation will inspire their citizens forever.”
On Friday, the families of army personnel, who made a final sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil War, gathered at the lame -lame approach in the Dras to pay heartfelt tribute to the heroes of the war.
The only program organized to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian armed forces, saw emotional memories from family members of fallen soldiers.
Rajesh, brother of a soldier who lost his life in Tiger Hill, recalled the poignant memories left behind in his brother’s diary. “My brother lost his life while serving the nation in the line of action in Tiger Hill. When we got the news about the war, he told us that he was not telling us. Rajesh said that Rajesh said that before going up, he handed over his diary to a friend.
Another family member, Surekha Shinde, shared his pride and gratitude, honoring his brother, who served for five years before the Kargil war. “My brother was in service for five years before the war started. I feel proud to come to this place, and I thank the army for this invitation,” he said.
The gathering on Lamochen’s approach served as a poignant reminder of courage and selflessness displayed by Indian soldiers during the Kargil conflict.
