JUST IN: The Trump Administration is issuing 18,000+ holiday bonus checks!

It’s going to be a wonderful Christmas for the over 18,000 people who have been given a Christmas bonus by President Trump and Sean Duffy!

I can already guess what some of you will say: “That’s great Noah, but it doesn’t help me!”

And I got it.

But President Trump is doing everything he can, cutting everything he can find, so I like to see progress… and maybe tomorrow it’ll be you!

Now back to our main story…President Trump has cut a deal with Amtrak to essentially take the money out of the perks of its top executives and give it to employees in a completely budget-neutral way:

🚨 BREAKING: In an incredible Christmas surprise, the Trump administration is sending $18,000 bonuses to 900 thousand Amtrak employees…

…and this money is coming from cuts in the allowances of top officials.

Sean Duffy also posted this video announcement:

Christmas is coming a little early this year for 18,000 people @Amtrak Thanks to frontline workers, leadership who gave back their holiday bonuses

reuters Added more information about checks:

More than 18,000 Amtrak employees will receive a $900 bonus before the end of the year, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced Thursday evening.

Funding for the bonuses will come from Amtrak’s executive leadership team bonus package, the statement said. The federal administration urged executive leadership to “withdraw 50% of the bonus packages that were paid under the misplaced priorities of the previous executive bonus structure.”

According to its annual report, Amtrak set an all-time record for both ridership and revenue in the 2025 fiscal year, with more than $2.7 billion in ticket revenue from 34.5 million riders.

The bonus was appreciated by some unions representing train employees.

Mark Wallace, president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen National Union, said in a statement, “Year-end bonuses will now go to 18,000 front-line workers instead of being limited to the executive ranks. This long-awaited recognition of the workers who keep the railroads running is a step in the right direction.”

This all follows this news from several months ago:

Amtrak CEO resigns after pressure from Trump administration

Amtrak CEO Stephen Gardner has announced that he will resign after facing pressure from the Trump administration.

In a statement, Gardner shared, “I am stepping down as CEO to ensure that Amtrak continues to have the full trust and confidence of this administration.”

He added, “I am extremely proud of what the Amtrak team has accomplished over the past 16 years to bring passenger rail service to more people and places across the country, and I thank the Board for their trust and support.”

Gardner stepped down after Elon Musk called for privatization of Amtrak.

Musk said, “I think we should privatize the Post Office and Amtrak, for example. … We should privatize everything possible.”

what to see hill Reported:

Amtrak CEO Stephen Gardner said Wednesday he will resign from his post in an effort to address the Trump administration’s concerns.

Gardner reflected on his start with the company as an intern, saying, “I am stepping down as CEO to ensure that Amtrak continues to have the full trust and confidence of this administration.”

“I am extremely proud of what the Amtrak team has accomplished over the past 16 years to bring passenger rail service to more people and places across the country, and I thank the Board for their confidence and support. We have done much together to make Amtrak safer, more modern and a better travel experience for all of our customers.”

His decision to give up control of the United States national passenger rail service comes as Elon Musk has suggested privatizing the service.

According to Newsweek, speaking at the Morgan Stanley conference on March 5, Musk said, “I think logically we should privatize anything that can reasonably be privatized.” “I think we should privatize the post office and Amtrak, for example. … We should privatize everything possible.”

Amtrak responded with a five-page document titled “Proposal to Privatize Amtrak”.

He said, “From my beginnings as an Amtrak intern in the 1990s to my end as CEO, it has been my honor and privilege to lead this great American company, and I wish Amtrak every success.” “See you on the train.”
