Toronto – Juno Awards are adding a dash of Latin taste in next year’s celebration.
The organizers of Canada’s largest music awards say they are planning to introduce Latin music recording year in the 2026 edition.
The new category will recognize Canadian musicians in all Latin American languages and styles, who have released music in the eligible year.
This is the latest step by Juneos how it recognizes Canadian creators and developed national music views.
Last year, Juneos added a South Asian music category, while in 2022 it divided the indigenous category in two to honor contemporary and traditional indigenous artists.
Hamilton Arena in 2026 Juneos Hamilton is scheduled to be held with the main shows aired from the First Antaro Center, which is ending with a $ 290 million renewal.
Another tweek rap is being designed for categories, which responds to the call for clarity around Canadian MCS participation.
The revised rules suggest that for the release of eligible in rap single and rap albums or EP categories, at least 50 percent of tone should be done by Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
