Srinagar, May 27: Social Welfare, Education and Health and Medical Minister, Sekena Itu chaired the 45th Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes (BOD) meeting, Development Corporation of Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes (JKSCSTBC).
Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Sanjeev Verma attended the meeting; The Department of Secretary Tribal Affairs, Prasanna Ramaswamy; Secretary Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, Talat Parvez Rohela; Director General, Development Expenditure, Sajad Hussain Ghani; MD JKScstbc, Ranjit Singh; National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), National Divyangjan Finance Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC), National Minority Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), National Safai Karamcharis Finance Finance Finance Finance Finance Finance Finance Corporation (NSKFDC), National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) and representatives of other concerned officials.
During the board meeting, Minister Sekaina, who is also the chairman of BODS, made a minimum evaluation of the corporation’s progress in promoting SC, ST, BC’s social and economic upliftment and developed communities in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the need to enhance outreach programs, to streamline the debt disbursed process and ensure transparent implementation of welfare schemes.
Underlining the importance of inclusive development, Minister Sekena called for coordinated efforts to empower the marginalized classes through skill development, financial assistance and entrepreneurship support among various stakeholders.
The minister confirmed the government’s commitment to run justice and reiterated that active governance, community engagement and constant financial inclusion remain central for the government led by Omar Abdullah.
During the meeting, the BOD took some important decisions to improve the efficiency of the corporation to divide the services in remote and underscoured areas, including the introduction of digital platforms to monitor the beneficiaries support and real -time monitoring of schemes.
In a historic decision, the board increased the benefits of the Corporation’s Direct Financing Scheme (DFS) and Education Loan Scheme (ELS) for the Pahari Group including Padri Tribe, Koli and Gadda Brahmin communities.
The BOD allowed the corporation to fill some immediate required posts on outsourcing basis by following the proper procedure prescribed by the government.
The board also approved the annual accounts of the financial year 2023-24 to further present the statutory auditor/CAG, besides the Board also approved by the Board for the budget estimates for FY 2025-26 and the real for FY 2024-25 for FY 2025-26.
During the meeting, the BOD also took some important decisions in the interest of human resource welfare of the corporation.
