Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) MP Mian Altaf Ahmed Larvi on Sunday paid tribute to the 129th URS of Mian Nizam-U-Din Kianvi (RA) and highlighted the message of saint of unity and spiritual knowledge.

Devotees from different parts of the country gathered during the 129th URS to offer prayers at the revered temple of Mian Nizam-U-Din Kianvi (RA) to offer prayers in Baba Nagari, Wangat Kangan.
The atmosphere was filled with spiritual devotion because people paid their honors and sought blessings. Many devotees expressed their deepest gratitude to be able to participate in the annual program, calling it a spiritually upliftment experience that strengthens their trust and relationship for the teachings of the Sufi saint.
On Tuesday, the head of the National Conference Farooq Abdullah welcomed the celebration of both Kheer Bhavani Mela and Urs of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani, calling it a symbol of communal harmony in Kashmir. He emphasized the importance of unity for national progress.
Talking to Annie, Farooq Abdullah said, “It is a matter of pleasure that Kheer Bhavani’s fair and Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani’s Urs are being celebrated today. There has always been brotherhood in the valley. We want to see this brotherhood across the country. If we stay united, we will progress.”
Kheer Bhavani Mela is an important annual religious festival for the Kashmiri Pandit community. It is held at Kheer Bhavani Temple in Tulla Mulla village in Gandarb district. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ragni Devi as Goddess Durga, and is considered one of the most sacred sites for Kashmiri Hindus.
Abdullah appealed to visit Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra, expressing concern over the decline in pilgrim numbers after a recent terrorist attack in Pohlgam.
“We should go to Mata Vaishno Devi in ​​Katra and appeal to people to go there. The number of devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi has decreased. People are scared after the recent war tragedy. The effect of the Pahgam incident was seen all over the country,” Abdullah said. (AI)
