The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has formally filed an FIR after an fake website link, showing the fabricated results for class 12 which went viral on social media, which created confusion and crisis among the students.

According to officials, unknown persons created a fraudulent website mimicking the official JKBOSE portal. The fake link, which clearly reflects that he claimed to be the result of class 12, was quickly broadcast online, causing widespread nervous between students and parents.

Confirming the development, speaking to the Kashmir News Service (KNS), Secretary Jekebos said an FIR has been lodged against the criminals.

“We have paid serious attention to the incident and filed a formal complaint with the police. Strict action will be taken against those responsible for creating and broadcasting fake websites,” the official said.

The board has urged students and parents to rely only on the official JKBOSE website for any update.

The cyber wing of the police is now investigating the source of fake links and is trying to identify those people behind the fraud activity. (KNS)
