J&K Traffic Police issued Jammu-Srinagar NHW, Traffic Advisor for other major routes, for other major routes

Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, has issued a traffic plan and advice for July 9, 2025 in view of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

According to the advisor, Sainzi convoy, LMV and private cars will be allowed to be subject to proper weather and better road conditions from both sides on Jammu -Srinagar NHW (NH -44). However, HMV will be allowed in alternative days.

The advisory specifies cut-off timing for LMV and HMVs on various routes. For example, LMVs and private cars will be allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm, while HMV will be allowed to Jammu from Navyug Tunnel (Qazigund side) after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44.

Passengers are advised to travel only after confirming the road situation from traffic control units. Fruit growers and carriers carrying fresh parishbals from Jammu to Load carrier are advised to load and park their vehicles on time. HMVS operators/owners are requested to avoid overloading and adequate fuel during travel on Jammu-Srinagar NHW.

The traffic movement on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road and Mughal Road will be allowed to be subject to proper weather and good road conditions on a regulated basis. Passengers can contact the traffic control unit for road status and traffic updates on the specified phone number.

In a respective development, the administration has decided that some vehicles including tankers and trucks carrying empty LPG cylinders, returning to Jammu to ensure the trouble -free movement of trucks carrying fresh and spoiled goods on NH -44 will use only the Mughal Road.
