Many houses in Trilla village of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir were severely damaged after heavy rains in many houses, dodging the region.

Sharada Devi, a resident of the village, shared her ordinance after her house was completely collapsed.

He said, “Our house has completely collapsed. Now, where will we keep our children? The place where we have kept our luggage, there are cracks in it too. First, a wall fell, then another.”

Pawan Kumar, the son of Sharada Devi, whose house was reduced by the rubble, urged the government to provide immediate relief.

He said, “My house collapsed due to heavy rains. Please help us as much as possible and provide us a place to live.

He said that the damage was not limited to his family. “Due to heavy rains, 3-4 more houses also fell in our village,” he said, highlighting the scale of destruction due to the ongoing monsoon in the hill district.

Meanwhile, all Spilway Gates of Baglihar Hydroelectric Power Project in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir have been opened after heavy rains. The district officials issued a warning to the general public for not going to the banks of the river.

Varunis said, “I received an advisory note from engineering and mechanical division of Baglihar Hydroelectric Power Project, stating that they would open their gates. They asked us to issue a advice in this regard.”

He said, “We have issued an advice to the general public not to go near the tributaries or the banks of the river, as it can be dangerous.”

Additional District Magistrate of Ramban has directed all the relevant revenue, police, SDRF, and officials of the Rural Development Department to an advisor to coordinate the situation along the banks of the Chenb River and jointly coordinate the situation.
