Ranchi:

Jharkhand MP Amba Prasad was questioned for about six hours by Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials for the second consecutive day on Tuesday in connection with an alleged money laundering case.

Amba Prasad entered the emergency room at 3.10pm and came out around 9.20pm.

“I have been asked to appear in court again on Wednesday. I am not yet aware of the actual issues in the investigation,” Amba Prasad told reporters after emerging from the federal agency’s office.

She was questioned by education board officials for more than six hours on Monday.

Earlier in the day, responding to a question on whether the central agency raised any land-related issue during the April 8 interrogation, Amba Prasad said: “This question was asked by the media only. I am not aware of the land acquisition issue How it came about. We don’t have any interest in the land,” she said.

After being interrogated the day before, she told media that most of the questions related to electronic devices confiscated from her.

Official sources said the 36-year-old MLA was initially asked to testify at the ED office on April 4 to record her statement under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

However, the lawmaker did not attend, citing health concerns.

Amba Prasad’s father and former minister Yogendra Sao was questioned by the Education Bureau for two consecutive days on April 3 and 4 in connection with the investigation into alleged cases of extortion and land appropriation .
