Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member, Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not combating the claim of the United States President Donald Trump to stop hostility between India and Pakistan.
In a post on X, Ramesh highlighted some points made by Donald Trump. The X post reads, “At least the 21st time in the last 59 days, President Trump has said that he –
1. The four-day India-Pakistan war stopped in May.
2. The war was about to grow in a nuclear conflict.
3. India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire as the carrot-and-stick approach to trade with the US was employed by them. In other words, their message was: stop the war at once or face the real possibilities of losing American markets (and possibly investment). ,
The X Post further read, “President Trump has done all this correct, as he was also announced that an American trade deal with India and Pakistan was declared very soon. When Narendra Modi once described his senior colleague Ghoshham Tiwari as BJP’s ‘Trump Card’, break his silence on this issue?”
This social media post of Jairam Ramesh is during a conversation with reporters after US President Trump’s recent repetition.
US President Donald Trump said, “We stopped the very big people like India and Pakistan. We stopped that overtrad. We are working with India and Pakistan. We said that if you intend to fight, we will not deal with you. They were probably on a nuclear stage. It was important.”
In the latest update about the trade deal, Trump said, “We have talked to everyone, and all this is done. I have told you that we will do some deals, but for most parts, we are going to send a letter. We want to welcome you to the United States, if you never do the most. A letter is being sent.
Earlier, Union Minister Piyush Goyal clearly stated that India would enter a deal on the basis of time limit and pressure. (AI)
