Jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed on Friday that his wife Bushra Bibi received food laced with “toilet cleaner”. He also claimed her health deteriorated as she battled daily stomach infections after eating “toxic food”.

Imran Khan, convicted in multiple cases, requested that he be allowed to interact with the media for 10 minutes after the hearing.

On April 17, Imran Khan claimed that Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir was directly responsible for Bushra Bibi’s imprisonment. He also threatened General Munir if anything happened to his wife.

“General Asim Munir was directly involved in my wife’s sentencing,” he said, adding that the judge who convicted her was forced to make the decision.

“If anything happens to my wife, I will not leave Asim Munir and I will not leave Asim Munir as long as I am alive. I will expose his unconstitutional and illegal actions,” He further said.
