Legendary minimalist fashion designer Roberto Cavalli dies. He died at the age of 83.

“Today, it is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our founder, Roberto Cavalli,” his namesake brand said in a statement on Instagram on Friday.

“From humble beginnings in Florence, Roberto succeeded in becoming a globally recognized name, loved and respected by all. Roberto was naturally talented and creative, and he believed that everyone could discover and develop their own artist.”

“Roberto Cavalli’s legacy will live on through his creativity, love of nature and his cherished family,” the statement added.

The cause of death has not been released.

Cavalli’s designs are worn by superstars, from Zendaya to Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Ora, Spice Girls and more, the designer has a flair for nude designs, embellishments, exotic patterns and all kinds of bold embellishments.

In 1970, after studying at the Florence Academy of Art, he founded his own brand. Later, he created his own method of printing leather, registered a trademark, and immediately opened a store in Saint-Tropez, where his leather goods were immediately famous.
