Is India really a sad country?The World Happiness Index says a lot

In 2024, India ranked 126th out of 146 countries on the World Happiness Index, making it one of the unhappiest countries in the world.

The ranking improved slightly from 136th out of 146 countries in 2022, but still lags behind neighboring countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh and China.

The World Happiness Report attributes these rankings to a variety of factors, including social support, income, health, freedom, generosity and integrity.
