The upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season marks the beginning of a new leadership era for the Gujarat Titans (GT). The 2022 champions will be led by young batsman Shubman Gill after Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction. With a combination of youth and experience, the team made some smart purchases in the IPL auction. While the team brought in Australian pacer Spencer Johnson and veteran Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav, GT also bought uncapped batsman Shah Rukh Khan for Rs 74 crore.
Before the start of the new season, Nehra supported Shah Rukh to become the “protagonist” in the middle and lower reaches of GT.
“We will see Shah Rukh Khan as the main actor. IPL is a very long tournament,” Nehra told the media.
Nehra also stressed that players must take care of their bodies as things can get tougher later in the game.

Nehra also said that new signing Johnson and Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Umarzai will have to play key roles in the team.

When it comes to the type of stadium where the home games will be played, Nehra said they have yet to make a decision.
