IndiGo flight from Mumbai delayed due to technical glitch, airline says

IndiGo Airlines on Saturday said its flight from Mumbai to Istanbul has been delayed due to technical issues.

According to an official statement, passengers on this flight will travel on two special flights operated by A32x aircraft.

“IndiGo flight 6E18 from Mumbai to Istanbul has been delayed due to technical issues with the incoming aircraft from Istanbul. Passengers of this flight are currently being accommodated on 2 special flights operated by A32x aircraft and we are currently working with the regulator Agencies are working together to obtain the necessary permissions at the earliest possible opportunity,” an official statement said.

“Ensuring the comfort of our passengers due to this unforeseen situation is our top priority at this time and we are providing alternatives, rescheduling and refunds as per norms. IndiGo deeply apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this delay.”

Earlier, a 42-year-old passenger on an IndiGo flight on Tuesday was arrested by Mumbai police for smoking bidis on board.

When the Indigo crew saw the incident, they immediately stopped him, officials said.

The passenger was handed over to the police when the plane landed at Mumbai airport.

A case has been registered against the accused Mohammed Fakruddin under Section 336 of the IPPC and the Aircraft Act. The accused is currently in judicial custody, police said.
