Prince William leaves Princess Beatrice ‘heartbroken’ over personal involvement

Princess Beatrice was once heartbroken by Prince William’s involvement in her personal life.

Before meeting her husband, the Princess was involved in a serious relationship with Dave Clark, to whom she was introduced by her cousin Prince William.

The couple’s paths crossed while studying in Scotland – Prince William attended St Andrews, while Dave attended the University of Edinburgh. In 2006, the couple were introduced by Prince William at a party reportedly hosted by actor Pierce Brosnan’s son Sean.

However, it appears that Prince William also played a role in the couple’s ultimate decision to separate in July 2016.

Throughout their relationship, the couple maintained a relatively low profile, although they were occasionally seen together on holidays, enjoying romantic dinners and even running the London Marathon.

He also attends royal events with Beatrice — and her family is clearly impressed with him, too, with his mother Sarah Ferguson telling People, “I call him Mr. Smiley because he smiles and is happy. I’m Dave I love.”

Prince William was reportedly feeling uneasy about this relationship, whatever friendship there was between the two was now growing cold. Insiders said it was difficult for her to ‘warm up’ to Dave.

But the biggest clue to Anglo-American marginalization came when William and Kate sent out invitations to their royal wedding in April 2011.

Apparently, there was no room for Dave on the guest list, with Beatrice attending with her sister, Princess Eugenie.

It has been suggested that Prince William believed Dave was ‘too indiscreet’ to be invited to the wedding.

Nevertheless, the couple remained together for the next five years before their relationship ended.

In 2016, Beatrice issued a decade-long ultimatum to her boyfriend, insisting he get married. She turned him down – and to make matters worse, he immediately moved on with an advertising executive from America named Lynn Anderson. They married in 2018.

Heartbroken Beatrice remained single for the next two years, until 2018 when she started dating her now-husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. His family has been close friends with his parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah, for decades.

The couple married on 17 July 2020 and in September 2021, Beatrice welcomed their first child, a little girl named Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.
